Antonio was born on June 12, 1937 in Ruidosa, Texas; the son of Antonio Garcia and Felicitas Hinojos. On September 17, 1957 he married the love of his life, Carmen Bustamante in Pecos, Texas.
At an early age dad moved from Barstow, Tx to Lakewood, NM and began his years in farming. In his early 20's dad began his career in construction with Marathon Gas Plant at the Indian Basin. Dad then followed with the Navajo Refining Expansion where he was hired as a full time employee. Dad retired from Navajo after 27 years. Dad had many fond memories and stories he'd share often of his time at Navajo.
Dad and Mom share 65 years of marriage. Together they instilled the importance of hard work and dedication to family. Dad had such a great sense of humor and a witty personality that will be forever remembered.
Dad leaves memories to last a lifetime not only for us kids but also for his grandkids and great grandkids that included his love for hunting, fishing, flea markets and Pecos diamond hunting to name a few.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Manuel Garcia and sisters Luisa Ortega, Maria Santillanes, and Amanda Ulate.
Survivors include his wife Carmen Garcia; sons Herman (Mary) Garcia, Tony (Bridgette) Garcia and Luis Garcia; daughters Maria (Tom) Reed, Sylvia Garcia, Lori (Amos) Grado, and Alice (Cory) Hawkins; a brother Willie Garcia; a sister Aurora Fuentes; Sister-in-law Damas Garcia; 22 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
A Special Thank You to his wonderful Hospice team for the great care and support.
