Antonio Armendariz

Services are scheduled at 9:00 am. Saturday, July 1, 2006,at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Antonio Lopez Armendariz, 201 W. 4th St., Dexter, New Mexico. Mr. Armendariz, 76, died Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at Artesia General Hospital in Artesia, New Mexico. Fr. Benedict Folger SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at South Park Cemetery, in Roswell, N.M. Pallbearers will be Jesse Armendariz, Edward Armendariz, Ramon Baeza, Jose Sanchez, Anthony Armendariz, and Michael Alvarez. A rosary is also scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of Grace Church. Visitation will be at Our Lady of Grace Church beginning at 4 p.m. Friday. Mr. Armendariz was born July 14, 1929 in Loving, New Mexico; the son of Antonio Armendariz and Hermenegilda Lopez Armendariz. On April 11, 1950 he was married to Esmerita Mata in Carlsbad, N.M. He was a lifelong resident of the Roswell area. She preceded him in death Oct. 22, 1995. He was a farm laborer and member of the Catholic Denomination. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 daughters, 3 sisters and a brother. Survivors include sons Tony Armendariz and wife Grace of Artesia, Tommy Armendariz and friend Maryann of Grants, N.M., Jerry Armendariz of Homestead, Florida, Bobby Armendariz of Roswell, Lonnie Armendariz of Roswell, Larry Armendariz and wife Tanya of San Diego, Calif., and Charles Armendariz of Lubbock, Texas; daughters Rachel Sanchez and husband Rogelio of Dexter, and Liz Armendariz and Manuel Artiaga of Roswell; sister Auora Armendariz Fuentez of Pecos, Texas; 30 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
