Annie Langston

Funeral services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 2 at Bethel Baptist Church, 609 N. 7th St., Artesia, NM 88210 for Annie Langston of Artesia.

Annie Langston, 83, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister was called to her eternal resting place on May 24, 2016.

Rev. Thomas Ford will officiate at the services. There will be visitation on Wednesday at Terpening & Son Mortuary from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Sister Annie Louise Langston was the first born child to Jimmy and Fredia Raglin on September 4, 1932 in Groesbeck, Texas. Her parents, brother Fred James Raglin and husband Robert Langston preceded her in death. Sister Annie attended Blackshear High School. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church where she accepted Christ at an early age in Groesbeck. She came to Artesia, NM in 1964. She was employed as a Head Start Teacher. Sister Annie contributed greatly in the community and to the "Keeping the Dream Alive Organization" where she served in several capacities, especially making social contact with members. She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved her sons and grandchildren unconditionally. She taught her sons to respect others and treat others the way they wanted to be treated. Sister Annie united with Thompson Chapel C.M.E. Church where she remained a faithful member serving as a Choir member, Usher Board member, Stewardess Board member, Church Secretary, and Missionary Society member until the Church closed in 2006. She then became a member of Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Thomas E. Ford. Attending all Services and she loved Sunday School. She enjoyed reading, watching TV, cooking and her favorite foods. She was a member of the Martin Luther King Organization.

Sister Annie leaves to cherish her sweet memories her two Leonard Ray Raglin and Tommy L. Raglin; Three grandchildren Latoya Bustamante, Jabar Raglin of Artesia and Jacoby Fernandez of Midland, TX; two sisters, Missionary Katherine J. Rhodes and Earnestine Barton, both of Waco, TX; one nephew Sammy L. Rhodes of Waco, TX; nieces Beverly Banks-Harris (Joe) of Dallas, TX; Elder Mary J. Conner of Ft. Worth, TX; Glenda Raglin of Groesbeck, TX; Jeanette Jennings of Austin, TX; Deborah Craine (Elbert) of Waco, TX; 8 great-grandchildren and a host of great and great-great nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
