Annie Hemphill

Memorial services are scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, 2016 at Bethel Baptist Church for Annie C Hemphill of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Hemphill, 100, died Friday, January 1, 2016 at Artesia General Hospital.

Rev. Thomas Ford will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.

Annie was born July 20, 1915 in Eagle Lake, Texas; the daughter of Olan Carter and Ada (Johnson) Carter. She was a longtime Artesia resident.

She was a housekeeper and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was a hard worker and loved to spend time with her family.

Annie was preceded in death by her parents; her children; a brother; and 3 sisters.

Survivors include granddaughter Mary Lee Stoker Payne of Ft. Worth, Texas; nephew Freddie Kimble of Artesia; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
