Anita Ortiz

A prayer serivce is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 18 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Anita Gonzales Ortiz of Artesia, New Mexico.

Ms. Ortiz, 70, died January 2, 2021 at Artesia General Hospital.

Cremation will take place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.

Visitation will be at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church Monday starting at 1:00 p.m.

Anita was born July 11, 1950 in Malaga N.M., the daughter of Jose Ortiz and Margarita Gonzales.

She was preceded in death by her lifelong partner, Danny Sedillo, her parents "Ma Mage" and Step father Joe Minjares, 3 brothers: Chito, Mike and Ray and a sister Sylvia.

Anita is survived by her children Jessica Ortiz of Artesia, Brenda Sedillo and husband Yohan of Phoenix, Misty Ortiz and partner Carlos of Artesia, Fermin Sedillo and wife Nancy of Phoenix and Shadow Sedillo and fiance Mercado of Loving; numerous grandkids and great-grandkids and many nephews/nieces whom she loved very much; sisters Trine Armendariz of Loving, Ellie Segura and husband Socorro of Artesia; and a brother Beto Dominguez and wife Jane of Carlsbad.

She was well known for taking in all of her kids friends as her own and lots of love for their kids and claimed them as her grandkids also! She was very proud of her big and loving family! She loved her grandkids with all her heart, but adored her great grandkids! She also enjoyed cooking and feeding everyone! Everyone knew they'd be fed going to grandmas! She was so happy when she had all her family together.
