Anita Nieto

Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 10, at Terpening amp; Son Chapel for Anita Martinez Nieto, 2615 W. Menefee Ave., Artesia, New Mexico. PMrs. Nieto, 76, died Sunday, October 7, 2007 at Artesia Good Samaritan Center. PJoe Martinez will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Felipe Martinez, Junior Martinez, Phillip Martinez, Henry Martinez, Joe Estrada and D. J. Nieto. PA rosary is also scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Terpening amp; Son Mortuary. PMrs. Nieto was born July 23, 1931 in Cloudcroft, New Mexico; the daughter of Ted Martinez and Maria Morales Martinez. PShe came to Artesia in 1937 from Cloudcroft. On June 14, 1953 she was married to Richard Nieto, Sr. in Artesia. PShe was a homemaker and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. PShe was preceded in death by her parents; a son David Nieto; brothers Joe Estrada, Felipe Martinez, and Ignacio Martinez; and a sister Maria Rodriguez.
Survivors include her husband Richard Nieto, Sr. of the family home; son Richard Nieto, Jr. of Hobbs, N.M.; daughters Terri Madrid of Mesquite, Texas, Carolyn Stephens of Denver, Colorado, Lupe Nieto of Artesia, and Anna Maria Nieto of Clovis, N.M.; brother Ted Martinez of Odessa, Texas; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
