Anita Brizeno

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 30, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Anita Dominguez Brizeno of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Brizeno, 82, died Monday, April 27, 2015 at her home.

Fr. Martin Cornejo O.F.M. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Manuelito R. Gamboa, Julian F. Brizeno, Jamitri D. Brizeno, John Eric Strain, Andrew B. Strain, and Joshua Creed. Honorary pallbearers will be Jesus G. Brizeno, Jerome Michael Brizeno, Juan C. Brizeno, Joseph Matteo Brizeno, Diego Jimenez, Lucas Strain, Issac Maese, Dominick Maese, Derek Maese and Jeremiah Jones.

Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary Wednesday beginning at 11:00 a.m. A rosary will be at Our Lady of Grace Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

Anita was born July 26, 1932 in Redford, Texas; the daughter of Juan Dominguez and Julia (Resa) Dominguez. She came to Artesia as a child.

On October 2, 1950 she was married to Juan C Brizeno in Artesia, NM. He preceded her in death December 30, 1996. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister Delia Gonzales; and a brother Juanito Dominguez.

Anita was a homemaker and an active member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Her church activities included being a Eucharist Minister and Lector, a Crucillista, an Apostolado, and a communion distibutor. She also volunteered at Headstart and lead many projects for the children.

Survivors include her daughters Connie B. Creed and husband Monty of Albuquerque, N.M., Corrina B. Strain of Albuquerque, N.M., and Veronica Brizeno of Artesia; sons Juan S. Brizeno of Artesia, Jerome Brizeno of Artesia, Jaime Brizeno and wife Maria of Artesia, and Lorenzo Brizeno and wife Vanessa of Austin, Texas; sisters Refugia DeHoyas of Artesia, Margaret Lopez of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Irene Huertaz of Roswell, N.M.; brothers Jose Dominguez of Roswell, and Benito Dominguez of Albuquerque; 21 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 6 honorary grandchildren.
