Angie Rodriguez

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, February 4, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Angelina "Angie" Martinez Rodriguez of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Rodriguez, 61, died Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.

Fr. Martin Cornejo O.F.M. will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Junie Martinez, Ernesto Martinez, George Martinez, Estevan Rodriguez, Roger Torrez, and Geraldo Chacon.

Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary Wednesday beginning at 2:00 p.m. A rosary will be at Our Lady of Grace Thursday at 9:00 a.m.

Angie was born July 14, 1954 in Artesia; the daughter of George Martinez and Ernestina (Elias) Martinez. She was a lifelong Artesia resident.

On May 6, 1995 she was married to Ramon Rodriguez in Artesia.

She was a homemaker, a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, the Crusillista's, and a women's prayer group. Angie loved to work word puzzles and spend time with her family.

Angie was preceded in death by her parents; son Jimmy Martinez; sister-in-law Alice Martinez; and nephews Jeremy Hatfield, and Jesiah Espinoza.

Survivors include her husband Ramon Rodriguez of the family home; daughters Angelina Valdez of Artesia, and Christina Martinez of Hobbs, N.M.; son Estevan Rodriguez of Artesia; sisters Jane Luevano of Artesia, Rose Gill of Fresno, CA, Margaret Franco of Artesia, Carmen Mariscal of Artesia, and Gloria Delgado of Lake Arthur, N.M.; brothers Tony Martinez of Las Cruces, N.M., David Martinez of Artesia, Ricky Martinez of Artesia, and Raymond Martinez of Artesia; numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
