Aneta Haynes

Services are scheduled at 2 pm Thursday, August 17, at Westside Church of Christ for Aneta I. Haynes of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Haynes, 98, died on August 12, 2023 at Artesia Healthcare in Artesia.

Larry Young will officiate at the services with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery.

Aneta was born on April 16, 1925 in Idabel, Oklahoma; the daughter of Mark West and Irene Hundley West.

Aneta was a devoted mother and grandmother. After raising 7 children she also played a very important part in raising 4 of her grandchildren.

Her hobbies included cooking, gardening, sewing and crocheting. Aneta was well know for her cinnamon rolls that were the size of a dinner plate. Wherever she went that would be the first thing requested of her...Grandma...Mom...would you make some cinnamon rolls?

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Peggy Lenora Helms, two sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include her sons Walter Litrell, William Charles Litrell, Sammy Ray Litrell, and Roy Haynes; daughters Sandra Gay Reynolds, and Susan Yvonne Olive; 18 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Artesia Healthcare and Rehabilitation for their continued support and the loving care that they provided for Aneta.
