Andy Frederick

Graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 15, at Woodbine Cemetery for Andy Frederick of Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Frederick, 85, died Saturday, November 12, 2005 at his home. Rev. Steve Ormord will officiate at the services. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10:00 A.M. Monday. Mr. Frederick was born December 23, 1919 in Eastern Oklahoma; the son of William Carol Frederick and Allie May Barnes Frederick. On April 29, 1939 he was married to Bertha Lorene Mitchum in Anadarko, Oklahoma. They both came to Artesia in 1946 from Oklahoma. She preceded him in death Jan. 31, 1991. He worked as a farmer until 1965. After that he worked for the City of Artesia at Woodbine Cemetery as a caretaker until retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and sisters Rosemary Blount, Pamela Frederick, and infant Phyllis. Survivors include his son Wendell Frederick and wife Bertha of the family home; son-in-law Ray Blount of Artesia, N.M.; grandchildren Johnnie Blount and wife Cheryl, Sammie Blount and wife Rhonda, Andrea Gutierrez and husband Augustine, and William Frederick all of Artesia; and great-grandchildren Carrie Herring and Courtney Blount both of Lubbock, Texas, and Jordan Blount, Jamie Gutierrez, and Jayda Gutierrez all of Artesia.
