Anastacio, better known as "Andy" or "Tacho" by those who knew and loved him, was born in Artesia on October 21, 1938 to Antoclo Marquez and Luz (Montoya) Marquez. He grew up in Artesia and worked in the oilfield, finishing his career with Dean's Electric.

Andy is survived by his wife Elisa; five children Patsy Galvan, Anastacio Marquez Jr., Michael (Jennie) Marquez, Olivia (Frank) Rolon, Christina (David) Marquez; his brothers Sammy Marquez, Tony Marquez and Rudy Marquez; sister Virgie Velarde; and 14 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
