Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Amos Barragan Ortega, Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Ortega, 46, died Wednesday, April 30, 2014 in Orla, Texas.
Fr. Martin Cornejo will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ernie Tesillo, Amos Ortega Jr., Jeffery Ortega, Luis Machuca, Manuel Ortega Jr., Rickey DeLaRosa, Troy Lara, Jerry Perez. Honorary pallbearers will be Javen Ortega, Natasha Ortega, Erica Ortega, Crystal Woolf, and Chase Woolf.
A rosary is also scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Grace Church.
Amos was born March 31, 1968 in Artesia the son of Enrique Ortega and Dominga Barragan Ortega. He was a lifelong resident of Artesia.
He was an operator with Ameriflow Services. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, and a die hard Dallas Cowboy and Artesia Bulldog fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Manuel Ortega and sister Jane Cabezuela.
Survivors include his wife Michelle Ortega of Artesia raised by his sister Mary Ortega of Artesia sons Amos Ortega Jr. of Artesia, and Javen Ortega of Artesia daughter Natasha Ortega of Artesia brother Luis Ortega of Artesia halfbrother Stevie Cabezuela of Artesia sisters Alice Ortega of Artesia, Flora Ortega of Artesia, Erica Ortega of Artesia, Frances Lara of Artesia, Henrietta DeLaRosa of Artesia and Margie Ramirez of Artesia stepsisters Sandra Cabezuela of El Paso, Texas and Lisa Rodriguez of Artesia grandchildren Aiden Ortega, Aaron Ortega and Andrew Ortega several Godchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
