Alfredo Sanchez

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, September 5, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Alfredo Rodriguez Sanchez Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Sanchez, 81, died Monday, September 2, 2013 at his home.

Fr. Paul Murtagh, SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Isaac Sanchez, Dominic Sanchez, David Bolding, Jr., Raul Marinez, Michael Mahan, and Ralph Sanchez. Honorary pallbearers will be Felipe Guerrero, Prudencio Briseno, Gilbert Lara and Johnson employees.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Wednesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. A rosary will be Our Lady of Grace Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

Alfredo was born August 20, 1932 in Otis, New Mexico the son of Alfonso Sanchez and Pauline Rodriguez Sanchez. He was a longtime Artesia resident.

On November 7, 1954 he was married to Elvira Martinez in Artesia. She preceded him in death on December 24, 1997. He was also preceded in death by his parents brothers Leonard and Pete sister Rosa Ponce and inlaws Daniel and Manuela Gonzales, Silverio Vargas, Pete Martinez, Pedro and Manuela Martinez.

Alfredo was an OwnerOperator of Sanchez Farmer Shop and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He was very generous and loved to talk to people, he never met a stranger. Alfredo also enjoyed trips to the casino.

Survivors include his daughter Irma Bolding and husband David of Artesia sons Oscar Sanchez and wife Rosa, and George Sanchez and wife Carol both of Artesia grandchildren Dominic Sanchez and wife Heather, Isaac Sanchez, Marsha Moling and husband Jeff, David Bolding and wife Beth, Tanner Sanchez, and Teighan Sanchez greatgrandchildren Nikki Sanchez, Madelynn Sanchez, Benjamin Bolding, Caleb Bolding, Miranda Molina, and Jema Molina sister Kay Raigoza and husband Leo of Roswell, N.M. brothers James Sanchez and wife Rita of Roswell, and Andy Sanchez and wife Lucy of Roswell inlaws Krystina Sanchez, Emma Sanchez, and Lucas Ponce, Chindo and Norma Martinez, Sammy and Angie Martinez, Eva Martinez, Lilia Martinez, and Grace and Tony Armendarez and numerous nieces and nephews..
