Alfred Thompson

Memorial services are scheduled at 1:30 PM Thursday, Dec. 31, at Terpening & Son Chapel for Alfred Thomas Thompson of Artesia.

Mr. Thompson, 77, died Monday, December 21, 2015 at his granddaughter's home in Artesia, New Mexico.

Jerry Jameson will officiate at the services.

Alfred was born August 5, 1938 in Depew, Oklahoma; the son of Marvin Thompson and Dorothy (Graves) Thompson. He came to Artesia in August 1969 from Oregon.

On March 22, 1957 he was married to Lila Morean Bagsby in Pampa, Texas.

He was a pumper in the oil field and loved to hunt and fish.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers.

Survivors include his wife Lila Thompson of Artesia; daughter Robin Claney of Artesia; son David Thompson of Carlsbad, NM; brother Tommy L. Thompson of Artesia; sister Delores K. White of Avery, TX; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
