Alfred Letcher

Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 13, at West Main Baptist Church for Alfred Sonny Letcher, 702 W. Runyan Ave., Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Letcher, 82, died Monday, June 10, 2013 at Eastern NM Medical Center in Roswell, New Mexico.

Jason Kraft will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Ryan Letcher, Chad Letcher, Jeff Letcher, Brice Letcher, Daniel Bruton, and Draven Bruton. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Hammond, Bob Waugh, Bill Sweatt, Kendall Livingston, Doyle Davis, Ray Martin, and employees of Sweatt Construction.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Alfred was born February 27, 1931 in McCamey, Texas the son of Alfred Letcher and Loma Oxford Letcher. He was a longtime resident of Artesia.

On October 15, 1975 he was married to JoAnn Davis in Pecos, Texas.

He was a heavy equipment operator.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, a sister and a stepdaughter, and stepfather R.A. Bob Holmsley.

Survivors include his wife JoAnn Letcher of Artesia sons Ronnie Letcher of Artesia, Randy Letcher of Artesia, and Dustin Letcher of Artesia stepson Dennis Callaway of Wasilla, Alaska daughter Robbi Bowyer of Roswell, N.M. 10 grandchildren and 13 greatgrandchildren.
