Alex Almanza

Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 2, at Trinity Temple Assembly of God for Alex L. Almanza, of Artesia, New Mexico. PMr. Almanza, 24, died Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. PPastor Carlos Rivera and Rev. Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Richard Garlets, Jesse Garcia, John Pearce, Lukas Bejerano, Josh Florez, Daniel Contrerras, Mark Leyva, and Eddie Miller. Honorary pallbearers will include Ricky Kimble, Jarod Onales, Sam Lewis, Jerome and Jaime Briseno. PMr. Almanza was born June 2, 1982 in Artesia, New Mexico; the son of Paul Almanza, Jr. and Anita Leyva Almanza. PAlex was a lifelong resident of Artesia. He was a graduate of Artesia High School in 2001. On July 22, 2006 he was married to Debra Tidwell in Artesia. PHe was a construction worker with Giles Construction at Navajo Refinery and a member of the Spanish Assembly of God. He loved golf and was a D.J. for dances as DJ X-press.
Survivors include his wife Debra Almanza of family home; parents Paul and Anita Almanza of Artesia; parents-in-law Dan and Sandy Tidwell of Artesia; grandmother Dora Almanza of Artesia; grandfather Paul Almanza, Sr. of Roswell, N.M.; brother Mark Almanza of Artesia; sisters-in-law Nora Roberts of Artesia, and SueAnn Tate of Roswell; aunts and uncles Mary Leyva of Artesia, Susan and Victor Contrerras of Artesia, RoseMary and Michael Leyva of Artesia, Nora and Ruben Leyva of Artesia, Jimmy and Yvette Almanza of Roswell, John Almanza of San Marcos, California, and Michael Vania of Artesia; cousins Richard and Sonya Soto of Artesia, Veronica Soto of Artesia; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
