Graveside services are scheduled for 2 pm Wednesday, November 10, at Woodbine Cemetery for Albert Lee Piper of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Piper, 75, died on November 8, 2021 at his home in Artesia.
Michael Spencer will officiate at the services. Pallbearers will be Sammy Blount, Chalk Drake, Jim Parsons, Steve Borland, Gonzalo Cerda, and Mike Kissell.
Albert was born on March 24, 1946 in Gorman, Texas; the son of Donald B. Piper and Callie L. Thomas Piper. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
He was married to Melinda Gable on September 6, 1975 in Artesia.
He was a member of the Amateur Radio Clubs in Artesia, Roswell and Carlsbad. He enjoyed talking on amateur radio to fellow 11 meter Side Boarders all over the world from Fiji, Australia, Carribean Islands, Faulkland Islands and all over the United States. He also enjoyed bicycling, shooting Air Rifles, photography, woodworking, and music from the 50's, 60's and 70's.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Frank Wayne Piper, and Auburn Dale Piper.
Survivors include his wife Melinda Piper; sister-in-law Cheri Crouch; brother-in-law Robert Gable; and nephew Dakota Crouch.
