A rosary will be recited for Albert S. Lopez at 9:00 am on April 15, 2025, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with a funeral mass to immediately follow. A private inurnment will take place.
Mr. Lopez, 67, passed away on March 21, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on August 11, 1957, to Alberto and Flora Lopez in Roswell, NM.
After graduating Valley High School in Albuquerque, Albert attended NMSU in Carlsbad, majoring in Forestry Wildlife Conservation.
Albert was a family-oriented man who found great joy in spending time with his relatives, particularly his grandsons, and created lasting memories through his love for the outdoors, often enjoying camping and fishing. He had a passion for taking long walks and dancing to good oldies music, bringing joy and happiness to those around him. His compassionate spirit and devotion to his faith were evident in all aspects of his life. His love showed through his eyes, smile, and heartwarming laugh.
Albert is preceded by his parents, Alberto and Flora Lopez; grandparents, Vicente and Manuela Sanchez; Jose and Pilar Lopez; in-laws, Antonio and Margarita Morales.
Those left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Olivia Lopez; son, Javier O. Lopez; grandsons, Javier O. Lopez, Jr, Giovani Lopez, and Carter Lopez; Tina Hernandez; sister, Sylvia Riley (Harold); brother, Jose Vicente Lopez (Mary Lou); aunt, Peggy Aguirre; uncles, Ruben Sanchez (Virginia) and Leno Sanchez (Mary); and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Specialized Traumatic Brain Injury Treatment Center, Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation in Dallas.
