Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 26 at Hermosa Church of Christ for Albert Lewis of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Lewis, 93, died Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Good Life assisted living facility.
Michael Joiner will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dennis Maupin, Darrell Brown, Paul Klontz, Larry Young, Dwayne Pounds, John Foster, and Doug Rodney.
Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary Tuesday beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Albert was born February 12, 1922 in Floresville, Texas; the son of E.H. Lewis and Floy (Griffith) Lewis.
On Nov. 23, 1946 he was married to Maxine Odell Pogue in Sinton, Texas. They came to Artesia in 1971 from Sinton. She preceded him in death October 17, 2010. He was also preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, 2 brothers and son-in-law Paul Lasater.
Albert served his country in the United States Army Air Corps as a Flight Mechanic in the Pacific during World War II.
He retired as Plant Foreman at Marathon Oil and was a member of Hermosa Church of Christ. His first love was family followed by building, gardening, and woodworking.
Survivors include his daughters Kitty Lewis of Dallas, TX, and Mary Lasater of Artesia; sons Jim Lewis and wife Kathy of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Don Lewis of Long Beach, CA; grandchildren Staci Molina of Artesia, Sarah Rogers of Mission, TX, Cody Lasater of Ft. Worth, TX, Steven Lewis of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Allison Lewis of North Charleston, SC; great-grandchildren Austin Lasater, Ariah Molina, Ella Rogers, Alexander Molina, Ben Lasater, Witten Rogers and Caroline Lasater.
Memorial contributions will be donated to the Ethiopia Water Well project - Hermosa Church of Christ and the N.M. Christian Children's Home in Portales, NM
