Services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 8th, at Hermosa Drive Church of Christ for Albert J. Lewis, Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Lewis, 39, died Saturday, September 3, 2005 at his home. Michael Joiner will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Deans, Corby Tiedemann, Vance Riggs, Joe Bob Thurman, Roy Haines, and Albert Reyes. The honorary pallbearers will be Doug Huffman, Donnie Pounds, Deryl Elrod, Mike Harrison, Dustin Pounds, Don Canada, and Robbie Burgess. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Wednesday starting at 10:00 A.M. Mr. Lewis was born January 13, 1966 in Marlow, Oklahoma; the son of Jim Lewis and Hazel Plunkett Lewis. He came to Artesia in 1980 from Texas. He served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a Journeyman Lineman for the electrical industry, and the owner and operator of Chango Tree Trimming Co. He was a member of the Hermosa Drive Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. Survivors include his mother Hazel Lewis of Artesia, N.M.; step-sons John Michael Brady, and Jeremiah Brady; step-daughters Megan Brady, and Shawntiqua Fuller all of Artesia; brothers Jim Lewis and wife Lisa of Blue Springs, Missouri, Robert Lewis and wife Vickie of Artesia, and David Lewis and wife Jeanine of Artesia; sisters Jane Partain and husband Rick of Bloomfield, N.M., and Katey Vowell and husband Mike of Cottonwood, N.M.; numerous nieces and nephews.
