Services are scheduled at 9:30 AM. Friday, January 30, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Aida Alvarado Hernandez, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Mrs. Hernandez, 53, died Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at her home in Carlsbad. Fr. Paul Murtagh SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Luie Granger, Don Titus, J.D. Graham, Jeff Zuniga, Dominic Marquez, and Julian Olivas. Mrs. Hernandez was born February 17, 1950 in Presidio, Texas; the daughter of Inocente Alvarado and Albina Salazar Alvarado. On Aug. 16, 1972 she was married to Espi Hernandez in Carlsbad, NM. She came to Artesia in 1964 from Loving, NM and to Carlsbad in 1998. She was a housewife. She was a Catholic, and very active in crafts and flower arranging. A rosary is also scheduled at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Grace Church. She was preceded in death by her mother. Survivors include her husband Espi Hernandez of the family home; father Inocente Alvarado of Artesia; sons Joel Yayo Hernandez and wife Chenay of Artesia, and William Hernandez of Artesia; daughters Cryselda Hernandez of Artesia, and Michelle Hernandez of Albuquerque, NM; brother Margarito Alvarado of Artesia, sisters Maria Marquez of Artesia, and Ramona Galindo and husband Joe of Artesia, grandchildren Samuel VanAtta, Jacob Hernandez, Issac Hernandez, Damian Hernandez, Rhiannon Hernandez, and Oriana Hernandez. Family will be receiving friends at 711 Champ Clark in Artesia.
