Graveside services are scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, at the Lubbock Cemetery in Lubbock, TX for Aelanda Lee Fuchs of Artesia. A memorial service will also be held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Hermosa Church of Christ in Artesia.
Mrs. Fuchs, 84, died Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at San Pedro Nursing Center in Artesia, New Mexico.
Michael Joiner will officiate at the services with burial at Lubbock Cemetery.. Pallbearers will be Ladd Jackson, Landon Jackson, Devan Fuchs, Ronnie Jackson, Michael Weast and Jon Ward.
There will be visitation Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Terpening & Son Mortuary.
Aelanda was born August 26, 1930 in Grimes, OK; the daughter of John Webster McKinley Watts and Bessie Miram (Daniel) Watts. She came to Artesia in 2000 from Lubbock.
On October 31, 1948 she was married to Clayton Darlow Fuchs in Sayre, OK. He preceded her in death on February 28, 1994.
She was a housewife, loving mother, member of Hermosa Church of Christ, and had been an active member of 16th and Pile Church of Christ in Clovis, NM for many years. Linda loved to shop, have parties and decorate. She loved singing with her family and playing Liverpool Rummy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Roxie Jackson, a granddaughter Marquise Weast and 2 brothers.
Survivors include her sons Kevan Fuchs and wife Pam of Midland, TX, Keith Fuchs of Kent, WA and Kelby Fuchs and wife Christine of San Diego, CA; daughters Darice Webb of Tyler, TX, Katrina Ward and husband Jon of Moore, OK and Melinda Weast and husband Michael of Artesia; son-in-law Ronnie Jackson of Artesia; 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
