Abigail Calderon

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Friday, September 4, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Abigail Abby Calderon of Artesia, New Mexico. Miss Calderon, 18, died Sunday, August 30, 2009. Fr. Paul Murtagh SSCC. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sean Rodriguez, Gabriel Rodriguez, Gregory Rodriguez, Ramiro Flores, Manuel Calderon, and Greg Molina. Honorary pallbearers will be her sisters Marlena and Mercedes and remaining family members. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Thursday beginning at 10:00 a.m. A rosary will be at Our Lady of Grace Church Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Miss Calderon was born September 11, 1990 in Artesia, New Mexico; the daughter of Rudy Calderon and Janie Olivas. Abby was a lifelong resident of Artesia. She graduated from Artesia High School in 2009 and was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She currently was a student Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, N.M. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Guillermo Calderon; uncles Richard, Robert, and Ismael Calderon; and a cousin Richard Calderon, Jr. Survivors include her parents Rudy and Sylvia Calderon of the family home, and Janie Olivas of Artesia; sisters Marlena Rodriguez, and Mercedes Calderon and Ricky Gonzales all of Artesia; brothers Sean Rodriguez and Amanda Lara, Gabriel Rodriguez, and Gregory Rodriguez all of Artesia; nephews Zacharey and Atreyu Aiden Rodriguez of Artesia; grandparents Maria Calderon of Artesia, Refujia Muniz of Artesia, and Johnny and Cecilia Urban of Dexter, N.M.; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
